The Guinness World Record for the most kiters riding the same mile at once has been broken in Tarifa, Cádiz, Spain, during the ninth round of the PKRA - Kiteboarding World Championship.
The latest Virgin Kite Surfing Armada event was unable to feature Sir Richard Branson due to scheduling conflicts, but was excellently led by nine-time world champion Gisela Pulido, and Javier Pérez Dolset, chairman of the Professional Kiteboard Riders Association (PKRA), led the "Armada" of 352 riders who simultaneously covered a mile of distance.
Riders from all over the world, both professionals and amateurs, have united for a good cause and have come to Tarifa, Cádiz, Spain, to participate in this exciting initiative that has gone down in kitesurfing history.
Throughout the race, a strong Levante wind prevailed, and in the final part of the race, it became gusty, making the finish somewhat difficult. Despite this, this record was broken, for the first time in Spanish waters.
